Running This Encounter

The white dragon wyrmling is arrogant and aggressive, attacking intruders on sight with little regard for tactics. Use its high AC and HP to force the party to commit resources, while keeping it mobile to avoid being surrounded. Don't be afraid to have it flee when bloodied if escape is available, preserving it for future encounters. This encounter works well as a solo boss for a single location or paired with kobold or orc minions for additional challenge.

Combat Tactics

The wyrmling prioritizes using its cold breath weapon in the first round, then relies on claw and bite attacks while maintaining distance. It attempts to use the environment (caves, icy terrain) for cover and will take the Dodge action if significantly outnumbered, relying on its AC 16 to weather attacks.

Environment & Setting

Ideal in a frozen cavern, snow-covered mountain peak, or icy lair where the terrain provides difficult ground and natural cover. The cold environment should reinforce the dragon's domain advantage and allow for descriptive frozen hazards.
