Freedom of Movement
AbjurationYou touch a willing creature. For the duration, the target's movement is unaffected by difficult terrain, and spells and other magical effects can neither reduce the target's speed nor cause the target to be paralyzed or restrained. The target can also spend 5 feet of movement to automatically escape from nonmagical restraints, such as manacles or a creature that has it grappled. Finally, being underwater imposes no penalties on the target's movement or attacks.

Player Guide
Cast Freedom of Movement on your primary melee combatant or mobile character before entering difficult terrain or enemy-controlled areas. This spell is most effective when you know the battlefield will feature web spells, entangle, or other speed-reducing effects. Pair it with aggressive positioning strategies since your target can move freely through obstacles and magical hindrances. The 1-hour duration makes it ideal for preparation before dungeon delves or anticipated combat encounters.

DM Tips
Remember that Freedom of Movement doesn't prevent being grappled, restrained, or paralyzed—it only negates speed reductions from spells/effects and difficult terrain. Clarify with players that magical effects preventing movement entirely (like hold-person) still work, but speed penalties do not.
