Player Guide

Use this spell for pre-combat scouting to locate enemies (beasts) before engagement, or to find escape routes via animals familiar with terrain. In exploration, it excels at locating food sources, mounts, or plants needed for survival or crafting. Combine with movement to close distance on located targets, but remember concentration limits prevent simultaneous use with other concentration spells.

DM Tips

Rule that the spell reveals direction and distance but not obstacles or exact positioning; use this to create interesting navigation challenges. Consider restricting the spell to creatures/plants the caster has seen before, adding the sensory familiarity requirement to limit power creep.
