Player Guide

Cast this before entering dark dungeons or during nighttime encounters to give your melee characters or scouts superior vision without penalty. The 60-foot range outpaces most creatures' darkvision, giving your party a significant reconnaissance advantage. Use it on characters who lack darkvision naturally (non-drow, non-dwarf races) or stack it with existing darkvision for maximum scouting efficiency. Remember it requires concentration for 8 hours, so plan to cast it during downtime rather than combat.

DM Tips

Use natural darkness as an environmental obstacle—darkvision doesn't grant advantage on Perception checks, only eliminates the disadvantage of darkness. Consider magical darkness (from spells or enemy abilities) to challenge darkvision-equipped parties.
