Silence
IllusionFor the duration, no sound can be created within or pass through a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on a point you choose within range. Any creature or object entirely inside the sphere is immune to thunder damage, and creatures are deafened while entirely inside it. Casting a spell that includes a verbal component is impossible there.

Player Guide
Position the 20-foot sphere to encompass enemy spellcasters, preventing verbal components and disrupting coordination while protecting your own casters if they stay inside. Use it defensively to neutralize sound-based abilities, alarm spells, and scrying attempts, or offensively to isolate and blind enemy commanders. The concentration requirement means you sacrifice other spells, but the battlefield control is often worth it—particularly against groups relying on verbal tactics.

DM Tips
Clarify that creatures entirely inside cannot hear anything outside either—it's mutual deafness. Remember that Silence doesn't prevent somatic components, so martial characters and some spellcasters function normally within it.
